TV workers strike ends
Mumbai, Nov 19 (UNI) The ten-day-long TV workers strike over wage hike was called off today after an agreement was reached between workers and TV producers.
The impasse, which virtually thwarted airing of new episodes of the serials, was sorted out after it was agreed that the workers will be paid 7.5 per cent more wages, sources said.
The shooting of all serials is expected to resume today, sources said.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had called for the strike on November 9, demanding higher wages, better work conditions and more breaks between shoots, forcing channels to begin repeat telecasts of the daily soaps from November 10.
