Security beefed up at Sabarimala Ayyappa temple
Pathanamthitta, Nov 19 (UNI) Security has been tightened at the famed Sabarimala Ayyappa temple and a scanner installed at Pampa for the first time in the history of the hill shrine.
The scanner is capable of minutely examining the ''Irumudikkettu'' being carried by all pilgrims.
Pilgrims have to go through the scanner installed near the guardroom. In addition, all other headloads too would be scanned.
Eighteen closed circut television cameras were set up at Sannidhanam.
To
make
police
surveillance
fool-proof,
ten
''Doms
cameras'' were
also
set
up.
Six
mobile
phone
signal
jammers,
erected
at
the
''Sopanam''
of
the
temple,
became
operational
from
today.
At
the
police
control-room,
all
communications
would
be
recorded
using
''voice
logging''
system.
Besides,
high
power
wireless
station
linking
all
police
stations
in
the
state
are
also
functioning
at
''sannidhanam.''
