Sambalpur, Nov 19 (UNI) Orissa secured three points on the basis of their first innings lead against Rajasthan on the final day of the Ranji trophy Elite group 'A' match here today.
Resuming their overnight score of 109 for 3, Orissa piled up 209 runs in their second innings establishing a lead of 220 runs. Captain S S Das with his overnight score of 57 runs added only four runs before being bowled by S Mathur at 61.
The other batsman who scored a half century was Niranjan Behera who was trapped lbw at his individual score of 54 by Vivek Yadav.
For Rajasthan, Vivek claimed four wickets conceding 38 runs.
Chasing a total 221 runs to win the match, the visitors could manage to score 131 runs for four at the close of the play with Robin Bist remaining not out at 60 runs. Captain Venu Gopal Rao was the other batsman who scored a moderate 40 runs while three others failed to reach the double figure.
At close of the play Robin Bist and Rajesh Bishnoi remained not out with 60 and 15 runs respectively.
For Orissa Debashish Miohanty, Basant Mihanty, Dhiraj Singh and Preetamjit Das claimed one wicket each.
