Mysore: Voters' list revision evokes lukewarm response

Mysore, Nov 19: The special revision of voters' list under the instruction from Election Commission of India (ECI) has been going on in the city from Nov 10 and will conclude on Nov  24. It will be held on Sunday, Nov 23 also.

The process is being held at 607 polling booths in the city covering Chamaraja, Krishnaraja and Narasimharaja Assembly constituencies.

The revision process will cover inclusion and deletion of names, corrections and change of address to be respectively applied in Form numbers 6, 7 and 7A, 8 and 8A.

The process is being held daily from 10 am to 5.30 pm (lunch break from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm).

Those who are applying for the inclusion of their names in the list for the first time should submit proof of age. The rest should provide proof of address like ration, passport, khata certificate, rent receipt, telephone bill or equivalent documents.

The response was rather medio-cre at Devaraja School in Devaraja Mohalla, Cluster Centre of Education Department before Maha-rani's Junior College and Govt. School in Mandi Mohalla.

The designated officers were in attendance with a good stock of necessary forms. They were even courteous enough to assist the people in filling up the forms.

The Corporation authorities have requested the voters to co-operate in the process to evolve a totally foolproof final voters' list.

Revision of voters list at the polling booth in Bannimantap Urdu School of N.R. constituency is in progress.

Many have obtained applications. However, hardly four or five persons are returning them per day. Revision is also in progress at JSS Ayurveda Hospital in Bannimantap.The existing voters list has been displayed at the booth for verification.
