Left, labour leaders to discuss alternatives to fin system
New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) The Left and the labour leaders from across the world will meet in Brazil for three days from Friday to suggest an alternative financial system in the backdrop of virtual collapse of international capitalism throwing the world economy out of gear.
The Global Meet-- a collective initiative--to be held in Sao Paulo city, would deliberate, among other things, how to mobilise working classes against the votaries of free market, privatisation and globalisation, said CPI leader D Raja, lone participant from India.
The meet was taking place at a time when the workers have revived the interest in Karl Marx's Das Capital to find the relevance of socialist thought and practices as the process of lay offs and the retrenchment have become the order of the day.
