Karntaka govt announces Rs 5 lakh solatium for the constable
Bangalore, Nov 19 (UNI) Karnataka cabinet which met here today has decided to pay a compensation of Rs five lakh to a Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) constable, who was killed in an encounter with Naxals in the forest area in Chickmagalur District last night.
Talking to newspersons here after attending the Cabinet meeting, Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Shobha Karandlaje said the government would pay the compensation in cash to the next of the kin of the slain constable.
The Minister said the wife of the ill-fated constable would receive the basic salary of her husband, for life.
A job would also be provided to a member of the family, she added.
