Hooda urges people to ''realise Indira's dream''

Chandigarh, Nov 19 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today urged the people to realise the dreams of former Prime Minister late Mrs Indira Gandhi and remain united.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a function organised by Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee at its head office here today to mark the 91st birthday of Mrs Indira Gandhi.

While describing Mrs Indira Gandhi as the ''most powerful lady of the century'', the Chief Minister said that she had taken effective steps to make Indian economy strong.

''It was because her initiative that banks were nationalised and their doors were opened for the farmers to get loans,'' the Chief Minister said adding that she also created Haryana and had sanctioned many big projects for the state.

He said that today Haryana was emerging as number one State in all spheres of development in the country.

Mr Hooda also lauded her contribution in furthering the cause of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

The President of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr Phool Chand Mullana also paid rich tributes to Mrs Indira Gandhi.

Earlier the Mr Hooda, Mr Mullana, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Mr.Dharambir, Parliamentary Secretaries Dr Krishna Pandit and Mr Dillu Ram paid floral tributes to Mrs Indira Gandhi in presence of a large number of Congressmen.
