Fed urges admn not to hand over Med college bulding's
Puducherry, Nov 19 (UNI) The Federation for People's Rights here today urged the territorial administration to drop the move to hand over the government medical college to ESI Corproation and to take immediate steps to commence the first year classes in the next accademic year.
In a statement here, Federation Secretary G Sugumaran pointed out that if the medical college was handed over to the ESI, the reservation enjoyed by BC and MBC in the Union Territory would not be available in the medical college.
Meanwhile, DMK state convener and former Chief Minister R V Janakiraman, in a statement welcomed the decision of the government to seek a one time grant for running the government medical college, and said the DMK would always support the government in implementing peope welfare schemes.
