Farmers reject to give land for Cement Factory
Gulbarga, Nov 19 (UNI) Farmers today rejected to sell their land for establishing a 10 million tonne capacity Cement factory by Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals (CFC) Limited here.
In a meeting held at Ferozabad, about 20 km from here, more than 300 farmers of Ferozabad, Sommunathhalli, Nadisinnor and Honnakeri, rejected the offer by the representatives of CFC. Deputy Commissioner Satya Murthy was also present at the meeting.
"We are not ready to sell our land for establishing Cement factory as we have inherited lands from our elders," a group of farmers told UNI.
However, Karnataka Ryto Sangha President Maruthi Manpade said that the farmers demanded Rs one crore per acre which was rejected by the Company representatives.
