Contact Punjab FM if 'babu' demands bribe for bill clearance
Chandigarh, Nov 19 (UNI) Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal today urged the people, including government employees to bring to his notice any instance of bribes being demanded for clearing pending bills from the state treasuries.
The complainants could contact him directly on his office telephone numbers.
In a statement issued here today, the Minister said that the Principal Secretary Finance, Director Treasuries, Additional Director Treasuries and Deputy Director Treasuries could also be contacted.
He has exhorted the officers to adopt a people-friendly approach with the sole aim to serve the people with utmost humility and missionary zeal. He emphasised that the underlying objective of SAD-BJP Government was also in line with the principle "to serve the people, not rule over them". Taking a strong view of a few reports published in the vernaculars that corruption was still prevailing in the government departments, Mr Badal reiterated that the state government under the able guidance of the Chief Minister has evolved a code of conduct for the fair and transparent administration to bridge up the ever widening gulf between the government and the people.
Mr Badal said that he as a member of the Punjab Cabinet strictly adhere to the self-imposed code based on moral ethics and the same was expected from all the officers in the department of Finance.
