Mangalore, Nov 19 (UNI) A bomb threat call at the Infosys building, which created panic for some time among the employees and the management, turned out to be hoax here today.
Police said that an unidentified call came to the Infosys at Kottara, in the city at 1230 hrs informing that a bomb had been planted in the building. The management immediately informed the police, who swang into action with sniffer dog squad and bomb experts and took up search operation asking about 300 employees to come out of the building.
However, more than 90 minutes search proved futile and the bomb threat call turned out to be a hoax.
Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar said that security had been provided to the Infosys building after the incident and also at another unit on the outskirt of the city. Security would also be tightened in all IT companies functioning in the city.
