Bengaluru, Nov 19: A rowdy-sheeter was hacked to death in broad daylight in Jnanabharati police station limits on Tuesday, Nov 19. The victim has been identified as Mahesh (28), a resident of Malagalu Janata Colony. He was an auto driver by profession. The spot presented a gory scene with body parts strewn all around.

Mahesh is said to have noticed a gang of around 10 people chasing him on bikes as he drove his auto in the morning. He got down from the vehicle and started running for safety near Annapurneshwari circle. However, the assailants attacked Mahesh with lethal weapons near Janata Colony killing him on the spot. The murderous gang fled the spot even as several onlookers witnessed the brutal act.

The police suspect that Mahesh was eliminated to settle scores. A rowdy-sheeter named STD Kumar was hacked to death in Girinagar a few months ago. Mahesh and his brother Vinay, the prime accused in the case were behind bars. While Mahesh came out of jail recently, Vinay is still in prison. Police suspect the hand of associates of STD Kumar behind the murder, as an act of vengeance. Mahesh is survived by wife Nandini, and 5-year-old son, Rahul and a 10-month-old daughter.

Commissioner of Police Shankar Bidari, Additional Commissioner of Police M R Pujar and DCP (West) Shivakumar visited the spot and reviewed the situation.
