Bailable warrant to former UPPSC chairman, secretary

Allahabad, Nov 19 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today issued bailable warrant against two officers, including Ram Sevak -- former chairman of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), Allahabad -- for non-compliance of an order by this court.

The other officer against whom the warrant was issued is Santosh Kumar Srivastava, former secretary of UPPSC.

The court, while issuing the warrrant, asked both the officials to file their response to this counter petion filed against them or appear in person before the court on the next date fixed.

Justice Sanjay Mishra, directed that bailable warrant be served to both the officials through Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of the district concerned.

Passing the order, the court said the report indicates that notices were served to the officials, but no one had appeared on their behalf. Even no counter-affidavit had been filed in their behalf.

The court has directed to hear this case on December 3, 2008.

It was alleged that order passed by the HC on January 17, 2008, by which matter relating to PCS (J) was directed to be reconsidered, was compiled with by the aforesaid officers. This order was passed on a contempt petition filed by S K Singh, a HC lawyer.
