Bhopal, Nov 19 (UNI) Rashtriya Swabhiman Andolan (RSA) chief and former BJP ideologue K N Govindacharya today said senior political leaders L K Advani, Mayawati and Rahul Gandhi had been projected as prime ministerial candidates by their respective parties but no one qualified for the top post.
''At this juncture, nobody can predict who can emerge out as a dark horse,'' Mr Govindacharya told reporters here, adding that Mr Advani was not the sole leader, who was in the race for the post of prime minister.
Defending Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) President Uma Bharti for preferring Ms Mayawati as prime ministerial nominee, he said Ms Bharti had chosen Ms Mayawati out of the three.
Mr Govindacharya said Mr Advani was not perfect but striving for perfection.
Commenting upon grudges between Ms Bharti and Mr Advani, he said that the BJS supremo respected Advani as a person but had difference over ideologies.
Citing the Setu Samundram Project, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board issue, the arrest of Shankracharya and now Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, he said the main opposition party BJP lacked conviction.
