Srinagar, Nov 19 (UNI) After the nomination papers of 13 candidates were rejected during scrutiny, there are now 188 left in the fray in 12 assembly segments of Badgam and Baramulla districts going to polls in the 4th of the seven-phase elections in Jammu and Kashmir on December 7.
Tomorrow is the last date for withdrawal of candidature, official sources said.
They said 77 nomination papers were received by the respective Returning Officers of the five Assembly segments of Chadoora, Budgam, Beerwah, Khansahib and Chrar-i-Sharief in Badgam district.
However, six were rejected during scrutiny of papers, they said.
Out of the 6 rejected nominations, four were of the standing candidates and two were Independents.
Against a total of 124 candidates who filed their nominations for seven constituencies of Baramulla district, 117 candidates were left in fray after scrutiny was conducted yesterday.
Seven nominations were rejected during scrutiny, they said.
Two nominations from Sangrama segment, four from Baramulla constituency and one from Gulmarg constituency were rejected.
Meanwhile, from Gulmarg Assembly constituency, two candidates who had filed their nominations as candidates from J &K National United Front and All India Forward Block could not produce A &B forms with their nomination forms.
They were declared as Independent candidates by the concerned Returning Officer.
