Rowling fan who lost legal battle over Harry Potter Lexicon files appeal

Washington, November 18 : A Harry Potter fan, who lost legal proceedings regarding the publication of an unauthorised guide to the boy wizard's famous franchise, has filed a court appeal.

Rowling and executives at Warner Bros, who own intellectual property rights to Potter books and films, won legal proceedings against writer Steve Vander Ark and publisher RDR Books in September.

Thus far, Rowling has been able to stall the publication of the 400-page text after she got to known about plans to release The Harry Potter Lexicon.

A report in Publisher's Weekly magazine suggests that legal team representing RDR filed an appeal to the US. Court of Appeals on November 7.

According to Contactmusic, the writers have offered to revise the book and remove any offending or copyrighted passages, but Rowling has turned down the offer.
