Kochi, Nov 18 (UNI) Senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary today strongly criticised BJP president Rajnath Singh for allegedly defending the Malegaon blast suspects Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt Colonel Prasad Shrikant Purohit.
Addressing newspersons here, he alleged that Mr Singh had tried to defend the suspects in a recent interview to a privat e news channel.
'' The masks worn by the BJP and the Sangh Parivar have been torn off with the party's stand to shield terrorists,'' he added.
'' BJP is shaken, frustrated and terribly worried and the party cannot even face elections in north India,'' he alleged.
Taking strong exception, Mr Poojary also critcised the BJP for not condemning the recent actions of the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra.
Mr Poojary asked, '' Why BJP did not condemn the Shiva Sena, which was its alliance partner?'' Mr Poojary, who is also the AICC co-ordinator in-charge of Kerala, alleged that the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government had failed miserably and would not be able to repeat the success it had in the last Parliamentary elections.
Higlighting the issue of terrorist activities in some districts in the state, Mr Poojary said it was the duty of the State Government to deal with the matter.
He critcised that the BJP and the CPI(M) were hurling allegations at each other and the eventual result was that people were living in a state of terror. Many had lost their lives.
