Chandigarh, Nov 18 (UNI) An estimated 36.44 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Haryana in the current Kharif season so far.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total paddy arrival, about 17.85 lakh tonnes had been procured by the government agencies at the minimum support price (MSP) and the remaining about 18.59 lakh tonnes has been purchased by the private millers and traders, which included 3.25 lakh tonnes leviable and 15.34 lakh tonnes non leviable paddy.
While enumerating the details of procurement of the paddy in the mandis, he said that Hafed has procured 7.55 lakh tonnes of paddy, Food and Supplies Department has procured 5.31 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 1.82 lakh tonnes, HWC 67,592 tonnes, FCI 9,258 tonnes and Confed has purchased 2.38 lakh tonnes of paddy.
He said that district Kurukshetra is leading with the arrival of 7,09,465 tonnes, followed by Karnal 6,24,919 tonnes, Fatehabad 4,36,735 tonnes, Kaithal 4,07,707 tonnes, Ambala 3,22,088, Jind 2.44 lakh tonnes, Yamunanagar 2.39 lakh tonnes, Sirsa 1.86 lakh tonnes, Panipat 1.59 lakh tonnes, Faridabad 1.05 lakh tonnes, Sonipat 94,060 tonnes, Panchkula 44,610 tonnes, Hisar 42,823 tonnes, Rohtak 16,495 tonnes and Mewat 8,330 tonnes of paddy.
Similarly, 3, 31,748 metric tonnes of Bajra has arrived in the mandis of the state during the current Kharif season so far.
Out of the total Bajra arrival, 3, 11,401 metric tonnes has been procured by government agencies at the MSP and the remaining about 20,347 metric tonnes has been purchased by the private traders.
Giving the details of the procurement of the Bajra in the mandis, he said that Hafed has procured 1,09,941 metric tonnes, Food and Supplies Department has procured 28,181 metric tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 89,602 metric tonnes, HWC 43,004 metric tonnes and Confed 40,673 metric tonnes.
He said that district Jind is leading with the arrival of 57,705 metric tonnes of Bajra, followed by Hisar 39,353 metric tonnes, Sonipat 38,556 metric tonnes, Bhiwani 34,454 metric tonnes, Rewari 33,073 metric tonnes, Narnaul 29,812 metric tonnes, Gurgaon 27,439 metric tonnes, Mewat 21,337 metric tonnes, Rohtak 17,578 metric tonnes, Faridabad 16,680 metric tones, Kaithal 11,686 metric tones and Jhajjar 4,075 metric tonnes.
