JD(U) nominee's candidature rejected in Rajasthan
Jaipur, Nov 18 (UNI) In a set back to the ruling BJP-JD(U) combine, the nominations filed by JD(U) nominee Ramniwas for Kotputli seat has been rejected during scrutiny today.
The BJP has left four seats, including Kotputli, for its NDA ally JD(U) in the seat sharing agreement and accordingly the former did not field its own candidate from there.
Nominations of nine candidates were rejected in Kotputli.
Whereas, in Kapasan constituency in Chittprgarh district, seven nominations were rejected.
There was also a dispute over the acceptance of nominations of some of remaining ten contestants and a complaint in this regard has been lodged by the CPI and other candidates with the District Electoral Officer.
Elsewhere, 443 nominations filed by 392 candidates for the December 4 Assembly polls were rejected in various constituencies.
The nominations filed by various prominent leaders including Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje(Jhalrapatan-BJP), former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot(Sardarpura-Congress) were found valid and in order.
A total of 3,190 candidates have filed 4,638 nominations in 200 constituencies in the state.
The last date of withdrawal of candidature is November 20.
