Kozhikode, Nov 18: Janata Dal(S) former district secretary T P Musthafa and his followers on Tuesday, Nov 18 announced their decision to quit the party and join the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) in protest against Kerala unit chief M P Veerendra Kumar's decision to rejoin the JD(S) faction led by former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Musthafa said real party workers could not accept Mr Veerendra Kumar's ''dictatorial'' decision by not consulting the party rank and file to return to the Gowda faction.
Mr Musthafa claimed that former Minister C K Nanu and many other party workers in all the districts have expressed their strong resentment against the decision.
He said he alongwith his supporters would formally join the IUML at a convention here on November 21.
At least 15 senior leaders from all the 12 Assembly constituencies in the district would particiate in it, he said and added that rest of his supporters were expected join the IUML at a convention later.
