Indo-Pak Home Secretaries to discuss terrorism on Nov 25
New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) The Indo-Pakistan Home Secretary level talks to be held in Islamabad on November 25 will focus on cross-border terrorism, smuggling of arms, narcotics and fake currency.
Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta would lead the Indian delegation in the talks, home ministry sources said here.
Meanwhile, SAARC Home Ministers meeting scheduled to be held on November 27 has been postponed on the Bangladesh government's request and would now be held in the first quarter of 2009.
In a formal communication sent to Indian Home Ministry, the Pakistan government has informed that the SAARC Secretariat received a request from the Bangladesh government that the SAARC meet should be postponed as Dhaka has elections in December so it would not be convenient for it to attend the conference.
Earlier, the Home Ministers of seven SAARC nations were scheduled to meet on November 27, Home Secretaries on November 26 while Police Chiefs on November 25 to discuss the common challenges being faced by the nations of the region.
