Chandigarh, Nov 18 (UNI) Punjab Government has enhanced the rate of grant for the construction of new Dharamshalas from Rs 50,000 to Rs One lakh for the scheduled caste.
Welfare of Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike said here today that the Punjab government was committed to provide better facilities to the scheduled caste people in the state to organise social get-to gather at the time of their ceremonial functions such as marriage or other community gatherings.
Mr Ranike further said that grant for the repair of old Dharamshalas (community inns) has also been increased from Rs 15000 to Rs 50,000. He said that Rs. 5 crore has been allocated for this purpose.
