Govt will provide incentive to farmers who pay loans promptly
Hyderabad, Nov 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the state government would give incentives to farmers not covered under the Centre's loan waiver scheme and repay loans promptly, on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi tomorrow.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the state would provide Rs 5000 to each farmer not covered under the loan waiver scheme.
He said an amount of Rs 1600 crore would be distributed to 37 lakh farmers in the state who had repaid their loans promptly.
He said out of 1.20 crore farmers in the state, 63 lakh farmers were benefitted by the Centre's loan waiver scheme, to the tune of Rs 11,350 crore.
He said the credit notes would be issued to farmers from tomorrow after depositing the amount in their bank accounts.
