Goa bowlers shine, visitors in backfoot

Margao, Nov 18 (UNI) Medium Pacer Saurab Bandekar's haul of three wickets enabled Goa to restrict Jharkhand to a score of 54 for four in their second essay on the penultimate day of the four day Ranji plate group''A'' match at the MCC ground here today.

The visitors, who still need 246 runs to win on the last day, with six wickets in hands, are in dire straits as top batting line failed to sustain the onslaught of mediam pacer Saurab Bandekar and collapsed.

At stumps, Saurab Tiwari(12) was giving company to Amir Hashim (11).

Earlier, resuming at 134 for four in the second innings, Goa propelled by valuable 75 by Advait Katkar and unbeaten 49 by all-rounder Sadab Jakati gained an overall lead of 299 runs.

Sujit Roy took four wickets for 75 and Sunny Gupta took three for 23 were the most successful bowlers for the visitors.
