Dhoni's success due to luck not skills, says Younis

By Staff

Lahore, Nov 18 (UNI) Younis Khan attributed Mahendra Singh Dhoni's recent run of success to his luck and said it would be interesting to see how the Indian captain performs after his luck runs out.

''But I would like to see how he fares and handles the pressure when the luck runs out. That will be his real test,'' Younis said.

He said Dhoni's luck has been kind to him that the decisions that he has made so far, have gone in his favour but added that in cricket one has to be ready for hard situations also.

''But in cricket one also has to be prepared to face hard situations when luck does not seem to smile on a player at all,'' he added.

Younis was the part of the Pakistan team which thrashed West Indies 3-0 in the just concluded three-match ODI series held at Abu Dhabi.

Younis, who had scored a century to help Pakistan to register a 31-run win over West Indies in the third and last ODI, was also of view that PCB should give skipper Shoaib Malik more time to settle as captain.

''From what I have observed, Malik learning the skills of captaincy with every match and he is a good learner.

''I would suggest that the Pakistan board give him time and I can see Malik leading the team for the next few years without any major issues,'' the 31-year old Younis added.
