Nashik, Nov 18 (UNI) The District and Sessions Court here today remanded Lt Col Prasad Purohit, accused in the September 29 Malegaon bomb blast, to judicial custody till November 29.

Purohit was produced before Justice H K Ganatra (fourth joint civil judge, senior division) as his police custody expired today.

The court has sent him to judicial custody for 11 days.

The court also handed over Purohit to Pune ATS from their Mumbai counterparts for further investigation as per their demand for his custody following a complaint registered by Amit Date, a resident of Pune.

The complaint was filed on November four under sections 465, 467, 468, 474 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code for forgery. In this connection, Purohit was handed over to Pune ATS.

Another accused Sameer Kulkarni, who is in judicial custody till November 29, has also been handed over to Khadki Police for investigation of another crime.

Advocate Vijay Gaikwad has applied for inspection of files and certified copies of the documents for filing of public interest litigations regarding violation of human rights of the accused during the investigation of the case. However, the prosecution objected to it and therefore, the application is still pending in the court.

''The investigation is at a crucial stage. The ATS has strong evidence against all the accused in the Malegaon bomb blast case.

The evidence will be presented before the court at the time of filing of chargesheet,'' Special Public Prosecutor (ATS) Ajay Misar said here today.
