Bhopal, Nov 17 (UNI) Special teams are being deployed to capture various election-related activities through video cameras for ensuring implementation of model code of conduct for elections, in Madhya Pradesh.
Responsibility of this work has been entrusted to Deputy Conservators of Forests, who will work under the Chief Electoral Officer, a in official release said here today.
Each Video team will comprise a video camera and an operator. A sub-inspector and two police jawans will accompany each team for providing security.
The team in-charge will maintain contact with the state election office through telephone and fax.
Guidelines would be provided to teams, along with consultation about videography in sensitive areas. The teams have been strictly instructed not to take orders from any authority but the State Election Office.
However, the teams may take necessary help from the district administration. It has also been made clear that the team will not inform about the work done by them to any other office or officer other than the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
In case of serious violation of model code of election laws, the videography team will capture the incident on the video camera and submit the proof to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
Intimidation and harassment of voters by criminals and anti-social elements will also be videographed.
