'Russia to build nuclear reactor in Venezuela'

''A nuclear reactor, to produce energy for peaceful purposes, will soon be built in Estado Zulia and named in honour of the Venezuelan scientist of the last century Humberto Fernandez Moran,'' RIA Novosti news agency quoted Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez as saying ahead of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Venezuela on November 26.
Chavez on Friday, Nov 14 announced that Venezuela was in talks with Russia on nuclear energy cooperation, and the issue was to be discussed during Medvedev's visit. ''Brazil has several nuclear reactors, as does Argentina. We will also have our own reactor,'' he said. Medvedev's trip to Venezuela on November 26 will be the first by a Russian President.
