Palakkad, Nov 17 (UNI) Riding on Rahul Diwan's unbeaten 83, Haryana scored a comfortable 190 for the loss of opener Nitin Saini against Kerala's 334 on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Plate Group 'A' match here today.
At stumps, Sunny Singh with 63 remained at the crease with Rahul.
Earlier, Kerala were all out for 334 runs before lunch. When the play began, the host lost with their overnight score of 214, lost the wicket of centurion Sharma, hardly had to settle down.
However, the eighth wicket partnership between Prasanth Chandran and Vinan G Nair added 76 valuable runs for the Kerala team, before the later was dismissed for 68 runs.
Prasanth Chandran, too helped build an adequate total by contributing 33.
Though Tinu Yohannan claimed the wicket of opener Saini, offering a catch of Sambasiva Sharma, the Rajesh-Sunny combination faced the Kerala attack with confidence.
