Punjab BJP asked to gear up for Lok Sabha polls

Chandigarh, Nov 17 (UNI) Punjab BJP president Rajinder Bhandari today called upon the party's rank and file to pull up their socks as the next Lok Sabha polls were round the corner and the party must repeat its 2007 assembly elections performance.

He issued these directions at the meeting of the party's state unit held here.

He called upon all participants to rise and put their full energy to repeat the victory of last assembly elections in the Lok Sabha elections. In the assembly polls the party had bagged 19 seats out of the 23 it had contested.

Prof Bhandari examined the reports regarding the preparation of Lok Sabha elections from booth level to sub divisional level.

Mr D P Chandan, state incharge of the membership campaign committee issued comprehensive guidelines at the meeting alongwith Manohar Lal, organising secretary of the BJP for the North Zone.

A meeting relating to Aajiwan Sahyog Nidhi was also held and was presided over by its state incharge Narrotam Dev Ratti. In this meeting Manohar Lal urged upon the participants to implement this scheme upto the ward level. He also provided necessary tips to make this programme successful.
