Pak Taliban decide not to hold talks with federal govt in future

Lahore, Nov 17 : The Pakistan's unit of the Taliban, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has reportedly said that it will not negotiate with the Pakistan government in future because the latter was "inciting" common people (by forming lashkars) against them.

TTP spokesman Maulvi Umar said that the Taliban tried to resolve their issues with the government through dialogue but lashkar leaders were planning to eliminate them at the government's behest.

"Anyone who tries to stand against the Taliban in future will meet the same fate as those killed in today's (Sunday's) clash," the Daily Times quoted him as saying.

Separately, TTP chief Baitullah Mehsud described the ongoing military operation in Swat and the Tribal Areas as 'state terrorism'. He said this in a message conveyed to the BBC on telephone by Rehman Mehsud who claimed to be a 'personal spokesman' for the TTP chief.

In the message, Mehsud accused the government of killing innocent civilians and vowed to take revenge.
