Nitish urges Centre to grant special package for flood-hit Bihar
Patna, Nov 17(UNI) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today urged the Centre for early clearance of special packge to execute reconstrutction and rehabilitation works in flood-hit north Bihar.
Mr Kumar told mediapersons here that the state government had submitted a detailed report to the Centre on damages in flood-hit north Bihar and also demanded for special package to carry out reconstruction and rehabilitation works on war-footing.
'' Despite the lapse of considerable time since submission of detailed report on damages, the Centre is yet to take a final decision on special package for rehabilitation in flood-affected Bihar, '' he lamented.
When asked, the Chief Minister dubbed reports on instruction of the state government for closure of relief centres in flood-hit north Bihar as ''rubbish'' and said it was being circulated by the vested interests to defame the NDA government.
Mr Kumar also blessed 22 children of flood-hit north Bihar adopted by an NGO to bear the expenses of their education till plus two level.
These children had met the Chief Minister before their departure for Ranchi where they would get free education in a school run by the NGO.
