Fifteen school students suspended for violent activities
Madurai, Nov 17 (UNI) Fifteen male students in a Government and a Private Higher Secondary School at Usilampatti Taluk here were suspended today for recent violence.
The sources said twelve students in 11th and 12th standards in a private school and three of the government school were suspended by the respective school managements for one week.
It may be recalled that a section of students of the two schools boycotted their classes on November 14 and disrupted traffic on the road to condemn the violence in Dr Ambedkar Government Law College in Chennai recently.
Some of the students pelted stones on the vehicles and damaged four Government buses. Police resorted to lathicharge to quell the unrest.
Cases had been registered against 50 students and investigation was, underway, police said.
