Executives of PSU oil companies defer tomorrow's strike
New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) A section of executives of the public sector oil companies who had decided to go on an indefinite strike from tomorrow have deferred their decision to do so.
Oil Sector Officers Association sources said the strike has been deferred, pending consideration of higher wages by the government in this regard.
The decision to hike the wages of the public sector staff of these companies has to be taken by the Cabinet.
There is also a divison among the association with discordened notes among employees pertaining to different PSU's of oil companies.
Petroleum Minister Murli Deora had appealed to the officers to resist from going on strike as there would be a huge national waste.
The association sources, however, were not categorical as to whether they plan to on a strike in future and when.
A Committee of Secretaries have approved higher wages for employees of all public sector units as per the recommendations of the Justice Rao Committee and the proposal is now before the Cabinet.
