Kakinada, Nov 17 (UNI) East Godavari Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi today said the crop damage, due to cyclone, is expected to be around Rs 10 crore, with ten per cent of the standing paddy crops in three lakh acres affected in the district.
Addressing media here, he said the U Kothapalli-Kakinada beach road was washed away to a stretch of 4.5 km and the loss was estimated at Rs four crore. Similarly, more than 600 houses were either partially or fully damaged and the loss was being estimated.
Teams from the Revenue and agricultural departments were enumerating the losses at the field-level and a comprehensive report was expected within three days, he said adding adequate compensation would be paid to the cyclone-affected as per government rules.
