Jammu, Nov 17 (UNI) Lambasting the BJP for deviating from its ideology of nationalism, the Peoples Revolutionary Movement (PRM) today alleged that BJP has fielded ''surrendered militants'' in various segments of Kashmir region for the seven phase Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections.

''BJP has not only dropped its demands of abrogation of Article 370 and special status to the J&K from its manifesto but also fielded ten ''surrendered militants'' as BJP candidates from different segments for the assembly elections,'' Rajinder Jamwal, PRM president and independent candidate from Vijaypur constituency alleged at a press conference here this afternoon.

Mr Jamwal said the BJP has a history of rank opportunism and to arouse peoples' emotions in the name of region, religion for the sake of power.

''BJP betrayed the nationalist people of Jammu and is a party to the freeze on 'delimitation' of constituencies in the state and created anti-national formation like Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),'' said Mr Jamwal, adding that the saffron party has let down the thoughts of Shyama Prasad Mukherejee and Pandit Prem Nath Dogra.

The PRM leader however, asserted that independent forces which emerged out of two-month long Jammu agitation over restoration of land to the Amarnath Shrine Board would play a major role in the assembly elections.

''Independent candidates will not only turn the tables but also upset the mainstream parties as people now demand new faces with nationalist frame,'' Mr Jamwal said and added that independent candidates will act as deciding factors and play a key role in forming the next Jammu and Kashmir government.
