Belarus invites Indian companies to invest in ex-Soviet Republic
New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI)Recalling India's long-standing relationship with erstwhile Soviet Union,MinisterofstateforindustryAshwani Kumartodayinvited Belarusan companies to collaborate with Indian companies.
Belarus was one of the Soviet Union's republic before the Union disintegrated.
Belarus Minister of Industries Mr Rusetsky, during his interaction with the Indian Minister, invited Indian companies to actively participate in the privatisation process of Belarusian industry. He identified heavy engineering, IT, pharmaceuticals and mining and defence sectors as the focus areas for investment in Belarus.
Underlining the need to increase trade and economic engagement between the two countries, Mr Kumar invited Belarusian businesses to collaborate with Indian companies to boostit.
He also assured him of government's full support to Indian industry to engage in establishing their footprint in Belarus.
Both the Ministers have agreed to boost the bilateral trade between the two countries to 500 million dollar by 2010.
