Arjun tops Goa leg race of Amaron Karting Challenge

Panaji, Nov 17 (UNI) Arjun Vernekar of Goa, Daniel Kiem and Man Mohan (both of Cochin) qualified and earned a chance to win Amaron Scholerships worth Rs 10 lakh at Go-Karting, Nuvem yesterday.

Arjun of ITTs, Bogmalo won the the Goa leg of the Amaron Karting Challenge finishing his 12 lap course in 5.09 minutes, followed by Daniel of Choice School, Cochin who clocked 5.15 minutes. Man Mohan of Global Public School also of Cochin finished third in the 12 lap course in 5.20 minutes. All the three will now compete at the grand finale in Hyderabad in January next year.

The two-day qualifier began with over 250 aspirants, between the ages of 12 and 16, zooming on the track in custom-built EVO AV 1 karts, with the latest version of Subaru 4 stroke engines, drawing to out do others and realised their dream.

The race failed to create the thrill, as Rinaldo Fernandes and Aadil Hussain crashed early in the race, leaving Keith D'Souza, Rahul Azeredo and Rohan Hoble vying for the top spot, even as Arjun took a decisive lead and cruised to victory.

Amaron brand ambassador Armaan Ebrahim, who was present at the event, gave away the prizes to the winners.

The 5th Regional leg of the challenge will be held in Mumbai on November 30.
