Lucknow, Nov 17 (UNI) Senior Uttar Pradesh minister and Chairman of state Haj Committee Naseemuddin Siddiqui today said so far, as many as 13,021 Hajis had left for the holy pilgrimage from here.
All in all, 229 pilgrims have, however, cancelled their expedition due to some reasons.
Apart from the state capital, 3,473 and 11,170 devotees have left for the pilgrimage from Varanasi and Delhi respectively, he informed.
The state Haj Committee has urged the Haj Committee of India to arrange additional flights for the Hajjis, but till now no date has been fixed in this regard, he added.
Mr Siddiqui said there were total 938 Hajjis under the additional quota in Lucknow, which included 411 of Kanpur, 267 of Jagdishpur/Sultanpur and 260 of other districts.
