Yuvraj in doubt as Ishant rested for second ODI

By Staff

Indore, Nov 16 (UNI) Injured pacer Ishant Sharma will not play the second ODI against England, while a final decision on Yuvraj Singh's availability would be taken before the match here tomorrow.

Ishant was suffering with a mild ankle injury and was therefore, rested for the opening match against England at Rajkot which India won by 158 runs.

''Ishant is virtually out of the match as if he doesn't play here, it would give him around 5-7 days' time to recover from his injury,'' Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said here today.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj, whose brilliant unbeaten century of 138 guided India to a convincing victory at Rajkot, was in a lot of pain in his back in the opening encounter.

The captain said although Yuvraj was showing improvements, a final call would be taken tomorrow morning.

''There's considerable improvement in Yuvraj's condition. But we will take a final decision on him before the match,'' he added.
