Seeded players qualify for main draw for Women Challenger

Kolkata, Nov 16 (UNI) Florence Haring (France), Bojana Jovanovsi of Sebia, Emily Webley-Smith of Great Britain and Sylivia Disderi of Italy qualified for the main draw at the Gujarat NRE Coke 50,000 dollars ITF Women's Challenger, being played at BTA complex here today.

Sylvia took 67 minutes to take out seventh seed Sheng-Nan Sun of China 6-4,6-2. Sylvia broke Sun in the third and the ninth games, while losing her serve in the eighth to take the first set 6-4. In the second, set Sylvia broke Sun in the third and the seventh games.

The second set went her way 6-2.

In the second round matches two seeds were shown the door. Second seeded V Wongteanchai of Thailand was ousted by Great Britain's Jade Windley in straight sets 6-1,6-4.

The second upset in the second round was that of fourth seeded Jade Curtis of Great Britain. Jade lost to Italy's Silvia in three sets 7-6 (7-5),3-6,0-6.
