Hubli, Nov 16 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today said the government would constitute an expert committee to recommend the mode of implementing programmes after Kannada language was declared as a Classical Language.
Speaking to mediapersons on his way to Bagalkot to participate in a function, Mr Yeddyurappa said the committee would submit its report in a week's time and after going through the report, modalities would be worked out.
The government was keen to improve the status of Kannada in Karnataka at all levels. Priority will be given on implementing the plans to conduct research, provide more employment opportunities to Kannadigas and to improve the language technically and find new software exclusive for Kannada and such other activities, he added.
The government would also celebrate the success on November 30 in Bangalore and other prominent cities of the state, wherein year-long programmes will be declared, he said.
Denying the criticism of the opposition, the Chief Minister said the BJP-led government has been working on priorities for the all-round development of the state rather than politicking and the statistics would speak for itself.
He urged the opposition party leaders to extend their cooperation for good governance, instead of attacking the government to gain political mileage.
The government would initiate measures to solve power problem, he added.
