Kerala's Rajesh banned for two yrs: produces fake age

Mysore, Nov 16 (UNI) Kerala's Rajesh, the silver medallist in the 10,000m race in the Boys-20 at the 24th junior national championships has been stripped of the medal by the Athletic Federation of India (AFI) for submitting a 'fake age certificate.

In an official press release issued late last night, AFI officials said the athlete has been barred from participating in any event at the national and international level for two years.

Referring to the issue of doping, the AFI said about 45 athletes participating in the junior nationals here had been randomly tested.

The results were expected in about three months he added.
