BSP Delhi sect joins Cong, Cong's Cantonment Board member joins BJP
New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) General Secretary of Delhi Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Thayyab Hussain today joined the Congress along with several of his followers.
Mr Hussain, while joining the party in the presence of DPCC president J P Agarwal, said the BSP had betrayed the interests of its people.
''In the name of dalits and minorities, the BSP was doing nothing for their uplift and instead feathering its own nest.'' Welcoming Mr Hussain, Mr Agarwal said the Congress was the true well-wisher and saviour of the minorities.
On the other hand, Delhi Cantonment Board member Om Wati Lohia and former Board member Jeet Singh Lohia of Congress made a home-coming by joining the BJP.
Joining the party, in the presence of party MLA Karan Singh Tanwar, both said they felt suffocated in the Congress as its leaders always indulged in ''vote-bank politics'' without any concern for social or public sentiments.
''It is only the BJP where equality and democracy prevails,'' both said and added that they would work to defeat the Congress with a huge margin.
