Lakhimpur Kheri/Lucknow, Nov 16 (UNI) Altogether six people, including five of a family -- of whom three were minors -- were burnt alive in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh late last night, police said today.
The incident occurred at village Ashokapur, where one Channu's hut was set on fire by his neighbour Dharmendra and his uncle.
According to police, Dharmendra immolated the family as his mother was having an extra-marital affair with Channu.
The deceased included Channu, his wife Kanti and three minor children Rohit, Mohini and Rohini.
Dharmendra's mother Rekha, who was inside the hut, was also charred in the incident.
Police has registered a case and arrested the accused.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
