Lucknow, Nov 15 (UNI) On the directives of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, State Advisory Council chairman Satish Chandra Mishra today reviewed various schemes run for the education and social uplift of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) categories in the state and directed the officers concerned to take necessary action for the implementationof the same.
In a meeting here, Mr Mishra said the CM had given explicit orders for the implementation of educational schemes for SC/ST on priority basis.
He said as many as 54 Ashram system schools were functioning all over the state and full capacity of those schools should be utilised and infrastructure facilities should also be developed.
Besides, the quality of food articles should be improved, he said.
Provisions for more funds, if needed, should also be made, the state advisory council chairman added.
The progress of various schemes run by Rajkiya Govind Ballabh Pant Polytechnic, Mohan Road, Lucknow and Social Welfare Department were also reviewed. The officers were directed to prepare the report within a week and take necessary action.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Social Welfare Devendra Chaudhary, Principal Secretary Handicapped Welfare Shailesh Krishna, Secretary to the state advisory council R P Singh and other officers concerned.
