SP nominee nabbed for murder
Betul, MP, Nov 15 (UNI) Samajwadi Party candidate Sanjay Satankar, who is contesting this district's Amla assembly constituency, was arrested today by Maharashtra Police in that state's Katol town adjoining this district, police said here.
Satankar was subsequently handed over to police at this district's Multai. He submitted his nominaton papers here on November 4 in police presence.
''Satankar was absconding after allegedly murdering three members of a Lohar family at this district's Khapakhateda village in 2006,'' Multai's Sub-Divisional Officer (Police) Bhupendra Singh Sengar said over telephone.
The Lohar family now resides at Katol near Nagpur.
