UP: Polling for Hardoi assembly by-poll starts
Lucknow, Nov 15: The polling for the Hardoi assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh started this morning on a low but peaceful note.
About ten per cent of polling had taken place till 1000 hours, the electoral office sources said. The polling was taking place in a peaceful manner and no untoward incident had been reported so far, they said.
A total of 12 candidates are in the fray for this seat where the bypoll was necessitated after former UP minister Naresh Agarwal, the then Samajwadi Party member in the state assembly, resigned to join the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party.
Incidentally, Nitin Agarwal, the son of Naresh Agarwal is the BSP candidate from Hardoi seat, which has been a stronghold of the family in the last many elections.
