Bangalore, Nov 15: The All India Konkani Parishad (AIKP) will hold the 19th National Konkani Literary Conference at Kundapur in Karnataka in February next year.
Speaking to mediapersons here, AIKP president and MP Shantaram Naik said the Parishad had organised the conference at Kundapur in Udipi district for the first time, as the Parishad wass poised to complete 70 years of its existence.
The two-day conference would be held at Bhandarkar College campus from February 7, he informed yesterday.
He said the local host for the meet would be Jai Konkani, an organisation working for the development of Konkani language in Kundapur.
The process of enrolment of delegates had already commenced in different states, including Goa. Konkani writers, teachers, students and others could enrol as delegates, Mr Naik said.
He said the Parishad had formed an organising committee under the chairmanship of Dr H Shantaram.
The Parishad was established in 1939 by late Madhav Manjunath Shanbhag in Karwar.
