Kannur and Anna enter inter varsity semi-finals

Kannur, Nov 15 (UNI) Defending champions Kannur and Anna Universities entered the semi-finals of the South-West Zone Inter University Volleyball Championship for Women here today.

Hosts Kannur dominated the contest from the beginning and outclassed R D V University, Jabalpur, 25-12,25-20 and 25-17 M G University. Kottayam went down fighting to Anna University 22-25, 14-25 and 20-25.

International players Minimol Abraham, Soumya V, Aleena Zachria and Anila Sachiria, excelled with thundering smashes, which earning points regularly for Kannur.

For Anna, Vijayalakshmi, Karthika Sarayoo Vijayan and Sindhu M played well. MG's defence was too week,this ultimately helped Anna to land the ball easily in the empty places in their rivals court.
